Setting your price correctly is the best way to ensure your hosting experience is both rewarding and profitable. On our platform, transparency is key: The price you enter is the total amount the Guest will pay.
To help you calculate your actual take-home pay, here is a breakdown of the costs associated with each booking.
Platform Commission
We charge an 18% flat commission per booking. This fee allows us to:
- Maintain and improve the digital platform.
- Provide customer support for you and your guests.
- Market your property to a wider audience of dog owners.
Payment Processing (Stripe)
We partner with Stripe to ensure secure and seamless transactions. There are two types of processing costs to factor into your revenue goals:
- Transaction Fee: Approximately 1.5%–2% per transaction. This is the standard cost for processing the guest’s credit card.
- Payout Fees:When your earnings are sent to your bank account, Stripe applies the following:
- CA$2.00/month (only applied in months where you receive a payout).
- 0.25% of the total payout volume.
- CA$0.25 per individual payout.
Taxes
As an independent host, you are responsible for managing, collecting, and reporting any applicable taxes to the government. Depending on your location and income, this may include:
- GST/HST (Federal/Harmonized Sales Tax)
- QST (Quebec Sales Tax)
