The K9 Off-Leash Network is built on trust, safety, and shared joy. As a Host, you are more than a property owner—you are a Guardian of the guest experience. These standards help you create a welcoming, worry-free sanctuary where dogs and their people can thrive.
Property Guardianship: Safety & Maintenance
Exclusive & Private Access
Total Privacy: All Spaces must be private and controlled by the Host. No other dogs or animals should be present in the guest area during a booking. This ensures guests can relax without the stress of unexpected interactions.
Defined Boundaries: Clearly mark the edges of your Space. Whether using fencing, natural landmarks, or signage, guests should always know they are in the safe zone.
Vigilant Hazard Management
Canine-First Inspections: Regularly scan for hazards specific to dogs, such as burrs, foxtails, stagnant water, or tick-heavy brush.
Safe Terrain: Remove sharp debris, unstable structures, or toxic plants. If your Space features water or steep trails, provide clear safety tips in your listing and on-site signage.
Seasonal Readiness: Mow tall grass in summer to minimize pests and clear ice or snow from entryways and parking areas in winter.
Immaculate Upkeep
The Cleanliness Code: Spaces must be tidied between every visit. A clean environment is a safe environment.
Waste Management: Provide a dedicated waste station with bags and a lidded bin. Clear signage helps guests do their part in keeping the haven beautiful.
The Guest Experience: Connection & Privacy
Honouring the Need for Space
Privacy First: Many dogs visit because they require a "people-free" environment. Respect guest privacy by staying out of the space during bookings.
Disclosed Monitoring: Any surveillance devices must be clearly disclosed in the listing and marked on-site.
Mindful Introductions: Only meet guest dogs if specifically arranged in advance. A hands-off approach ensures a low-stress arrival for the dog.
Transparent Representation
Visual Honesty: Provide at least 5 clear photographs that accurately reflect the terrain, fencing, and parking.
Accessibility Notes: Be transparent about physical requirements. If your space has steep inclines or uneven ground, note it so guests can plan for their dog’s specific mobility needs.
Guidance & Arrival
The Welcome Path: Provide simple instructions for parking and entry. A small welcome sign or a printed "Haven Guide" helps guests feel immediate confidence.Booking Buffers: Respect the transition time between sessions. If guests arrive early, kindly ask them to wait in their vehicle to allow the previous Guest and dog to exit peacefully.
Platform Guardianship: Professionalism
Calendar Integrity: Maintain an accurate calendar to avoid the disappointment of cancelled bookings.
Prompt Connection: High-quality hosting starts with communication. Respond to messages and requests through the platform tool as quickly as possible.
Neighbourly Harmony: Be mindful of your surrounding community. Manage noise and traffic to ensure the Network remains a welcome part of your neighbourhood.
A Promise to the Pack
Every Host Guardian helps shape the heart of this community. Your care and commitment make off-leash freedom a reality. These standards are our shared promise to the dogs we serve—let’s keep building something beautiful together.
